Outdoor realities to plan for

• Wind: an outdoor cooler fights the wind. Aim the discharge at the occupied zone and shelter the unit side where you can; no airflow figure survives a strong crosswind unchanged.
• Humidity: evaporative cooling works best hot and dry. In hot and humid outdoor air the temperature drop shrinks — the unit still moves fresh air, but the cooling effect is smaller, and buyers in humid climates should weigh that before ordering.
